The Lincoln lawyer (2011, Brad Furman)

The Lincoln Lawyer Poster

Mick Haller, a greedy lawyer is asked to represent a rich young man (Ryan Phillippe) accused of raping and beating a prostitute. In the process, he discovers that the case is linked to a case he dealt with few years before.

Several years after A Time to Kill (1996), Matthew McConaughey is back again to the courtroom and he quite excels in it. The storyline, alongside other “trial” movies is about what goes wrong with the system so nothing new, no ending twist or something that way, the filmmaker is making it simple and yet the movie is successful. Ryan Phillippe is great as the cunning-powerful-spoiled Louis Roulet. He is a perfect match for the Haller character.
