The Three Musketeers (2011, Paul W.S. Anderson)

Young D’Artagnan allies himself with the three legendary musketeers Athos, Porthos and Aramis to foil Cardinal Richelieu’s plot to seize the throne and prevent war.

Good reasons to watch it:
-The cast (Christoph Waltz, Milla Jovovoch, Mads Mikkelsen, etc. These are big names)
-The spectacular action scenes
-The movie being brought up to date (like Sherlock Holmes which is a great success)
-Matthew MacFadyen’s voice (and accent)

The three musketeers
Reasons not to:
-If you are a big fan of Alexander Dumas and the book
-Too much anachronisms. Sometimes it feels like watching Resident Evil set in 17th-century France
-A scene after the end credits that suggests a possible sequel
-You have to pay extra for the useless 3D

The scene with the laser
Memorable quotes

D’Artagnan: You want me to go to England, retrieve a diamond which the Queen suspects might be in Buckingham’s possession (…). Then return to Paris with every soldier, assassin, mercenary, bounty hunter, both sides trying stop me from doing so. Did I miss anything ? (…) Why in the world would I do that?

(She kisses him)

D’Artagnan: England, it is
